Frequently asked questions
Everything about printing AI-generated designs: files, bleed, color, Human Edit, shipping and ordering through your AI assistant.
Bringing your AI design
Can I print an image I made with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Midjourney?
Yes. PrintFromAI is built for AI-generated artwork: download the image from your AI tool and upload it on any product page. We support PNG, JPG, WebP and PDF files up to 60 MB.
Do you generate designs for me?
No — you bring your own AI. Use any AI tool you like, and we handle everything needed to print it: sizing, bleed, CMYK conversion and quality checks. Use the “Need a design?” button for a ready-made prompt sized for your product.
What resolution does my AI image need?
Aim for 300 DPI at the final size including bleed; most AI images are already large enough for business cards. Each product page lists the exact pixel size per size, and the upload zone shows your effective DPI instantly.
Who owns the rights to my AI-generated design?
You are responsible for having the right to print your artwork. Don’t upload logos, characters or brands you don’t own. Rules about AI-generated content vary by tool, so check your AI provider’s terms.
Can my AI assistant place the order for me?
Yes. Our open agent API and MCP server let assistants like ChatGPT and Claude fetch live prices and create a secure checkout link. You always review and pay yourself — assistants never handle payment details.
Print quality
What is bleed and why does it matter?
Bleed is extra artwork (usually 0.125") beyond the trim line that gets cut off. It prevents thin white edges if the cut shifts slightly. Our upload preview shades the bleed area so you can see exactly what will be trimmed.
Will my colors look the same as on screen?
Very close, but not identical. Screens show RGB light while presses use CMYK ink, so very bright neon blues and greens can print slightly duller. We convert every file with a professional press color profile to keep colors as faithful as possible.
What is the $25 Human Edit & Proofs?
Human Edit is an optional prepress service: a real designer fixes bleed, crop, low resolution and tiny text, then emails you a proof to approve before anything prints.
Do you upscale low-resolution images with AI?
We resize using a high-quality Lanczos filter and warn you if your image is below the recommended DPI. We don’t run generative AI upscalers automatically, because they can subtly change text and logos; if your file is too small, add Human Edit and a designer will fix it properly.
Orders & shipping
How much does shipping cost?
US ground shipping is free on every order.
How long does printing take?
Most products print in 2–5 business days after your files are approved, plus ground transit time. Each product page shows its turnaround.
Can I change my order after paying?
Yes, until it goes to press. Email support@printfromai.com with your order number. If you chose Human Edit, you can request changes when you review your proof.
What if something is wrong with my prints?
If there’s a print defect or we made a mistake, we reprint or refund it. See our refund policy for details.
