AI tools are amazing at artwork, but they don’t know about trim lines, bleed or tiny phone numbers. For $25 per design, one of our designers prepares your file for press and emails you a proof. Nothing prints until you approve it — and everything is printed in the USA.
When you need it
Our upload preview flags most of these automatically. If you see one, Human Edit is the easy fix.
Your image is the wrong shape
Most AI images are square, but a business card is 3.5 × 2 in and a door hanger is tall and narrow. A designer recomposes the art so nothing important is cut off.
It looks soft or pixelated
Many AI images are only 1024 pixels wide, which is small for a postcard or letterhead. We rebuild edges and type carefully instead of letting the press blur them.
Text is too close to the edge
Words and logos outside the safe line can be trimmed off. We move them inside and keep them clear of die cuts such as the door hanger hole.
The AI garbled your text
Image generators often misspell names and phone numbers. Tell us the correct text in your notes and we’ll fix it so it’s crisp and readable.
It needs a small layout tweak
Bigger phone number, logo moved up, a background extended for bleed — the small adjustments that make a design look professionally printed.
You want peace of mind
Ordering 1,000 cards for an event or a client? A proof lets you see the exact print file before anything is printed.
When you can skip it
Plenty of AI designs are ready as they are. You probably don’t need Human Edit when:
- The preview says “Good for print” or “Excellent for print”.
- No “wrong shape” message appears — or you’re happy after dragging the art into place.
- All text sits inside the dashed green safe line.
- You’ve zoomed in and every word, number and email is correct.
How it works

Upload your design and click “Add Human Edit & Proofs”, or tick it in the price calculator. Leave notes for the designer.

We prepare it
A designer fixes crop, bleed, safe area, resolution and text, and converts it for our presses.
- Step 3
You approve
We email you a digital proof. Reply to approve it, or tell us what to change and we’ll send an updated proof.
- Step 4
We print in the USA
Production starts after approval and your order ships free by UPS Ground.

- Recomposing or cropping your art to the exact product size
- Extending backgrounds into the 1/8 in bleed
- Moving text and logos inside the safe area and away from die cuts
- Cleaning up low-resolution edges and small type
- Correcting text you tell us about in your notes
- A press-color (CMYK) check and a digital proof before printing
Not included
- Creating a brand-new design from scratch — use your favorite AI for that ().
- Several different concepts or a full logo design.
- Changing the style of your artwork. We keep your design and prepare it for print.

Every order is printed by professional US print partners on commercial presses, then shipped free by UPS Ground anywhere in the United States. Most orders print in 2–5 business days.

How much does Human Edit & Proofs cost?
It costs $25 per design (per item in your cart), added in the price calculator on the product page. Reorders reuse your approved proof, so you don’t pay for it again.
When do I need Human Edit?
Add it when the upload preview says your image is the wrong shape or low resolution, when text is close to the edge or a die cut, when your AI misspelled names or phone numbers, or whenever you want to see a proof before printing.
How does the proof work?
After you check out, a designer prepares your file and emails you a digital proof. Reply to approve it or to ask for changes. We only print after you approve, and production time starts from your approval.
Will the designer change my artwork?
No. We keep your design and its style. We only make the changes needed to print it well: cropping, bleed, safe area, resolution clean-up and the text corrections you ask for.
What happens if I don’t reply to my proof?
We wait for your approval. If we don’t hear back within 30 days we may cancel the order and refund it, minus the Human Edit fee if the edit was completed.

Everything is printed in the USA by professional print partners and shipped free by UPS Ground anywhere in the United States.
