Letterhead FAQ
What size should my AI letterhead design be?
Letterhead is 8.5 x 11 in. With 1/8 inch bleed the artwork is 8.75 x 11.25 in, which is 2625 x 3375 pixels at 300 DPI. Keep logos and contact details at least 3/8 inch from the edge of the artwork. Ask your AI for a design with a header and footer and a blank middle for your letter.
Can I run this letterhead through my office printer?
Yes. It is printed on 70lb uncoated text paper that is laser and inkjet safe, so you can print your letters on it in a normal office printer.
Can my design go all the way to the edge of the page?
Yes. Full bleed is included at no extra cost, so backgrounds, borders and color bands can run right to the edge of the 8.5 x 11 sheet.
How do I leave room for the letter text?
Design the letterhead as a frame: a logo and header at the top, contact details or a thin band at the bottom, and a light or white area in the middle. Very dark or busy backgrounds behind the body area make typed text hard to read.
Can I print on the back of my letterhead?
Yes. Click + Back design to add a back, which is popular for a subtle pattern, a second-page design or company details. The price updates as soon as you add it.
How long does letterhead take?
