Postcards FAQ
What size should my AI postcard image be?
Generate the full size including 1/8 inch bleed on every side. 4 x 6 in postcards need 1875 x 1275 pixels at 300 DPI, 5 x 7 in need 2175 x 1575 pixels, and 6 x 9 in Jumbo postcards need 2775 x 1875 pixels. The upload preview gives you a copy-ready prompt for the size you select.
My AI image is only 1024 pixels. Is that enough for a postcard?
It works, but larger postcards may print soft. The preview shows the effective resolution as you upload, and we recommend 250 DPI or more. Ask your AI for a larger image at the exact pixel size, or add Human Edit & Proofs and a designer will review the file before printing.
Can I mail these postcards?
Yes. Our 16pt postcards are thick enough for mailing, and the 4 x 6 in size qualifies for USPS postcard postage. 5 x 7 in and 6 x 9 in pieces mail at letter rates. Keep the right half of the back clear for the address, postage and the USPS barcode.
Which coating should I choose for postcards?
UV Gloss makes colors pop and protects the card in the mail. Matte has a soft, glare-free look. If you or your customers will write on the postcard, choose Gloss Front / Matte Back, because pens write easily on the matte side.
Can I print a different design on the back?
Yes. Click + Back design to upload a second file, such as an offer, a map or space for an address. The calculator updates the price as you add the back or change the quantity.
How fast will my postcards ship?
Postcards are printed in 2-5 business days after payment and ship free by UPS Ground within the United States, with tracking sent to your email.
